Caffè Is the Italian word for coffee. Coffee was first cultivated in Ethiopia, East Africa and later introduced to Europe through the Ottoman Empire. Venice and became one of the first European cities to regularly trade for coffee in the 1600’s. The first Italian coffee houses opened in Venice around the end of the 17th century. For our coffee shop we wanted to go back to the roots of coffee and we went with the Italian spelling of coffee and not the more modern French spelling ‘Cafe’ or English spelling, ‘Coffee.’
Globe speaks to the world wide vision of this coffee shop. All the profits from our coffee shop go directly to projects around the world including the building of schools, churches and waterwells in partnership with Into-Africa Inc. We proundly serve to further these.
